SANS and the Boston Community Choir enjoy an informal cooperative and supportive relationship; members of each chorus sing in both groups. Initially created to perform for the Boston Pops' annual Gospel Night, BCC sings frequently throughout the Boston area (First Night, Symphony Hall community concerts, and an annual Gospel program at a Newton synagogue are among the many engagements).

Sharing A New Song celebrates the human spirit through choral music. Reaching across social and political boundaries to other countries and within the United States, Sharing A New Song promotes intercultural understanding and lasting relationships.

Supports revival of the traditional art forms of Cambodia (music, theater, etc.) which are in danger of being forgotten since many skilled artists were killed in the late 1970s and 80s by the Khmer Rouge. Also inspires contemporary artistic expression.

SANS visited one of the orphanages in 2004 and learned that many of the children have living parents who are unable to take care of them. SANS friend Galina Yevstifeeva, who lives in Yaroslavl and who has participated in many exchanges with SANS, is Executive Director in Yaroslavl.

Mapendo: www.mapendo.org 
Helps African refugees who “fall between the cracks” of other aid programs. Its director, Sasha Chanoff, is a friend of SANS’ Donna McDaniel. In 2005 SANS gave a concert with Boston Community Choir to benefit Mapendo.

Founded by SANS alum Anne Watt, Primary Source promotes history and humanities education by connecting educators to people and cultures throughout the world.

Helps to care for the children of Cambodia, a country SANS visited along with Vietnam in 2006. It was founded by Dr. Nancy Hendrie of Concord, Massachusetts, a retired pediatrician.

Sibusiso: www.sibusisopartners.org 
Established in 2003, Sibusiso is dedicated to improving the quality of life for people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS in resource poor settings. These are African communities in Boston and in Africa. With a vast array of international experience serving the needs of impoverished communities, Sibusiso’s dedicated group of volunteers emanate from the medical, pharmaceutical, business, education, human rights and humanitarian fields.

Located at Devens, MA, UNACC offers support to other Native American organizations in MA, CT, ME and Canada. They also support various charitable organizations within their community, both Native and Non-Native. UNACC offers programs to educate schools and other groups about Native Culture.
